Stairlifts

Our stairs are on a bend but we would like a stairlift, is that a problem?

No problem at all, it is likely that you will require a Curved Stairlift, these are fitted to a curved track and designed to follow the curves and bends of your staircase. This type of track is custom made to your property and our surveyor will assess the specifics for you.

What is the difference between a curved stairlift and a straight stairlift?

A straight stairlift is fitted to a straight track, allowing you to move smoothly up and down your stairs in a single direction. A curved stairlift fitted to a curved track, designed to follow the curves and bends of your staircase. This type of track is custom made to your home, and because of this they are usually a little more expensive than a straight stairlift

Should I rent or buy a stairlift?

As an independent local busines ourselves, we recognise that sometimes circumstances change and initial outlay is often less of a preference than perhaps an affordable monthly payment. We also understand that your company may rent the premises in which you work. We have a number of affordable options for you. Click here to view our Price Guide

Are reconditioned stairlifts inferior quality to new stairlifts?

Reconditioned stairlifts are used stairlifts that have been restored and fully serviced ready for resale. Even though they’ve been pre-loved, they meet our high quality and safety standards. Reconditioned stairlifts provide a reliable and smooth ride equal to a brand new stairlift, and are often a cheaper alternative to new stairlift

How long does a stairlift installation take?

Our average time for installing a standard straight stairlift is just under two hours. Our bespoke or curved stairlift installations take around half a day to fit. After your stairlift is installed our engineers will provide you with a demonstration to show you how to use it. We’ll also tidy up after ourselves and take away any waste packaging.

Why are curved stairlifts more expensive than straight stairlifts?

Curved stairlifts are typically slightly more expensive than straight stairlifts as they need a handmade curved track. The extra cost is down to the extra materials, time, and expertise that goes into creating a bespoke track.

Can I change the look of the product?

Yes. Each Lift can be tailored to your specific taste or business brand. The carpet, rail and lift car colours can all be changed. There are a range of different hand rails and perch seats available. Our stairlifts are also customisable, one of our team will happily discuss and listen to your preferences.

Through The Floor Lifts

Are our Through The Floor suitable for wheelchair users?

Yes. The Trio Lift is ideal for users with mobility issues as it gives them the freedom and independence to move around the home unhindered. The Trio is wider and deeper than the Duo Lift and can accommodate a standard-sized wheelchair. It is an ideal alternative to a stairlift and perfect for users with a walking frame.

How is the Through The Floor Lift powered?

The Lift uses a steel roped drum-braked gear motor drive system which means it is compact and neatly self-contained within the roof space of the lift car itself. Unlike other lifts, all of the mechanics are in one place, hidden from view. The domestic lift plugs straight into a standard 13amp wall socket.

Can I operate the Through The Floor Lift with a remote control?

The Through The Floor Lift includes two small remote controls so you can call it at any time, from either floor at your convenience.

What happens if the power fails and somebody is in the Through The Floor Lift?

In the event of a power cut the Through The Floor Lifts are equipped with a battery back-up facility. This is included as standard with the lift and will allow anyone in the lift at the time of power failure to gently descend to the lower level of the home, exit the lift, and wait until the power comes back on. We do also offer the option of an uninterrupted power supply.

This system can be installed at an extra cost but it’ll allow for numerous trips both up and down while the main power to the lift is out.

Are Through The Floor Lifts noisy?

The Through The Floor Lift does not require noisy hydraulics or any extra external mechanisms and thanks to its unique drive system, the lift is very quiet and makes less noise than most stairlifts.

What happens if we do not require the Through The Floor Lift in the future?

The lifts are simple to remove and you can take it with you if you decide to business premises. It is very straightforward to reverse the aperture opening and seal it and your building will look as if the lift was never there.

You may, however, decide to keep the lift in position as a lift can add value to your property and is an attractive and compliant asset.

What compliance or standard code does the Through The Floor lift comply with?

Lifts fully comply with the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. This compliance allows lifts to have a CE mark, allowing the products to be legally sold throughout Europe.
